Description
Teen Life is a 6-session programme for parent carers of young people aged 10 to 16 years on the autism spectrum, developed by the National Autistic Society. The Teen Life programme aims to empower parents and support professionals to understand more about how autism is experienced by teenagers.
Teen Life Bexley - Enhanced Offer
Whilst Teen Life is a stand-alone course for parent carers, the London Borough of Bexley and Bexley Voice have produced an enhanced offer. Bexley Voice offer follow up sessions on completion of the 6-week Teen Life course. Each group are offered 4 sessions (held monthly) at a time and location to best suit the group.
Why attend?
These facilitated sessions are designed to:
- provide personalised ongoing support after the main 6-week Teen Life course
- provide signposting opportunities to services both locally and nationally that offer support
- boost parental confidence and empower them to advocate for themselves and their young people
- ensure parents are aware of the relevant laws around SEND
- provide peer support to reduce poor mental health, loneliness and isolation and to give parents a good support network around them
Where are they held?
Various locations, within the borough of Bexley.
Who can attend?
They are available to Bexley Voice members. If you are not a member, click here to apply to join (free membership is open to parents and carers of children or young people with special needs or disabilities who live in the Bexley borough and/or attend a Bexley borough educational setting).
Can I bring my children?
Teen Life sessions are for adults only.
Do I need to book?

When are they held?
Various dates. Once you have competed the online form, you will be advised directly as courses become available.
